Choices....

Today has been a trying day, emotionally, and not for me, but for a friend of mine.  However, I have spent hours on the phone listening to her describe how her family is imploding.  I, as her friend, take on her stress and pain. 

I do want to preface this with I have a terrific son, who has grown into an outstanding young man.  Granted, we had our own "teenage" trials and tribulations, but thankfully, they didn't last long or we overcame them quickly.  Children today, well, teenagers/young adults today have this false sense of entitlement.  And when they don't get their way, they can turn really nasty.  Unfortunately, they don't see the long term effects of their snide comments.  My friend's heart is breaking because of her daughter, who is 20, and let's face it, knows e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g!  And my heart is breaking for my friend.

Today on Facebook, I posted this status update:

LIFE is about CHOICES....however, the choices you make today, whether in anger, love, lust, or sadness, will affect who you are or are to become tomorrow. Choose WISELY......

This is a good reminder for all of us....with that being said, I am off to bed....and another reminder tonight is:

Just gotta share.....

How stinkin' cute is this??? And so easy!  You could substitute different colored popcorn for different seasons, or even put different colored candies like Skittles in there for a change in the decoration!  I LOVE this!

When the going gets tough.....

.....the tough get going?  I wish it were that easy.  Sometimes this "tough" girl just wants to crawl into bed, cover my head, and sleep.  I don't have the "ostrich syndrome", I do know that not dealing with something doesn't make it go away, but there are days I just want to scream GIVE ME A BREAK! 

I do know that there are people out there that have it worse off than me.  I really am thankful for all I have.  I have a fantastic son, who grew into a fine young man over night.  He has a great girlfriend, whom I call my girlfriend-in-law.  I have a wonderful, supporting family, well, at least on my mom's side of the family.  And I have a great husband who would virtually do anything for me, albeit with a little (okay a lot) of nagging from me.  I have close friends that have so much stress and drama in their lives that I do not know how they handle it!  And being the compassionate person I am, I take on their stress.  But, hey, that's what friends are for, right?

I am not going to make this a religious post by any stretch of the imagination, but, when the going gets tough, I do try to hand over all my worries to God.  He really must think I am an awesome person because he keeps giving me stuff to deal with :)  I know he is an awesome God, who, good or bad, gets all the glory!

I admit, I am a duffle junkie!  I love all kinds of duffles.   I am not sure why, though.  It's not like I go out of town a lot, even for just a weekend or overnight.   But I have a weakness for these little (large!) buggers!  If you look in my closets I bet you find no less than 2 duffles in each closet.  And Lord knows, don't look under the beds :/  But look, look above, LOOK at all the pretty colors! (Wasn't there a cartoon character that said that once????)

Many look at duffles as a "redneck" way to travel.  I don't, I find it "comforting" for the lack of a better word.  You can throw everything in one place, sling it over your shoulder and off you go.  And packing the car, with suitcases you have to pack like you are putting together a jigsaw puzzle.  It's annoying.  With duffles, toss them in, stack them up, shut the trunk without worrying about breaking or bending any part of your car (because duffles are giving!).  Have I said how much I love duffles?

Wow, I lost yesterday....

Oopsie....yes I didn't post yesterday because, well, I guess I ran out of time.  I absolutely lost yesterday!  For a woman who doesn't work, who doesn't have a child that lives at home anymore, that is definitely NOT the June Cleaver person and keep my house spotless, I sure do seem to be "pressured" sometimes to get what I need to do done!  How is that?  Poor time management?  Too much Farmville? :)  Oh well....I guess if it gets done, great, if not, I can hope for tomorrow!

Day 2....

Today is day 2 of this blogging thing and if you noticed, I made some changes in the fonts and tabs.  This page is still under construction so be patient and keep checking back for updates.  There is no telling what I will do next!

I have been in "Direct Sales" now for about 10 years.  I don't do it to get rich, I just do it to have fun.  Half the time I spend more money than I make but I like to support online businesses because most of the time it's stay at home moms just like myself.  It's sort of like supporting local businesses in your town (you DO do that don't you?).  I have met some wonderful people over the years and even though I have never laid eyes on them in person, I do consider them some of my closest friends.  So if you see any companies that might interest you, please ask me for information on how to join.  Remember though, have fun, first and foremost, as you won't get "rich", especially if you join companies that are free to join, like I do.  Do it for the friends you will meet and who knows you might just make a little extra money for Christmas!

On my shopping page you will notice some banners advertising for companies.  If you click the banners, it will take you directly to their sites.  I will try to find ones that interest the majority of people, but if you are looking for something specific, let me know and I will see what I can find.  ALSO, if you are interested in purchasing from any of these places, email me or comment on here and I will see what promotions they have going on.  Who doesn't like to save money?!?!?!

Okay, here we gooooo....

Hi, I am Kimi.  I am first and foremost a wife and mother.  Secondly, I am Crohn's Disease and Fibromyalgia warrior!  Although externally I look fine, however, I am unable to work outside the house.  So I can feel like I am contributing something to society I decided I would start blogging.

My blog is going to contain Ramblings from whatever strikes my fancy for the day, Jewelry in Candles, Spirit Lockets, and Shopping.  Ramblings will contain yumminess, DIY craftiness and Crohn's Disease Awareness, along with, well general ramblings :)  I am going to try (keyword TRY) to post something daily.  Please bare with me as I learn the ins and outs of blogging!
